Keeping music a rich part of our children's lives.
I would love to hear your feelings about what music means to you and your family. My new Blog provides a forum for sharing views, resources, and fun tips to ensure that music is a rich part of our children's lives.
I grew up with parents who were classical musicians, so music has always been close to me. Now, with my 5 kids, we love singing and dansing with the music. It brings our spirit up and also connect us together.
Thank you Mika, thank you saintchuck, for sharing your memories---they are testimonies to the rich and lasting impressions we keep from our early childhood music experiences.
I was never one who was interested in learning an instrument, primarily because I had no confidence in myself. I do, therefore, admire anyone who can play an instrument of any kind. I love music of every genre and enjoy nothing more than watching my granddaughter, who is now 19 months old, dancing to various songs and jingles that pop up on tv throughout the day. Because of her, I jump right into it with her and we have a blast together. I am constantly encouraging her to dance, though she really needs no encouragement! Music is a way of communicating on so many levels. It helps us to forget our worries for awhile and enjoy the moment. We're all better for it! I know I am, as music has helped to create a wonderful bond between my granddaughter and me!

My fondest memory of music is my dad playing us to sleep on his saxophone.
